Peter Gray (Pete) is a Director of Gray-King & Gray Ltd, a social enterprise tackling social inclusion by helping organisations develop and by conducting participative community based research.

Help to organisations includes a wide range of local, regional and national programmes, including input into the Experts Online service, with a 5000 strong subscriber base of people working in regeneration, the voluntary community and social enterprise sectors. Pete’s particular Expert contribution is in Finance Management, helping organisations understand how to make financial models which are workable and lead to sustainability. Trained in audit and finance management when an Executive Officer in the Royal Navy, Pete moved to working with financial models for multi million pound commercial tenders before transferring to the community sector. Trained by the New Opportunities Fund (now BLF) in assessing bids, he has written financial profiles of successful funding applications, has helped a significant number of organisations with the financial aspects of funding applications and has participated in a number of bid appraisal teams to investigate financial profiles. Understanding voluntary community sector finance, he created the Experts Online Full Cost Recovery Planner, allowing organisations to cost their work to cover core costs in addition to project costs and has created the financial profiling tool for the national net:gain programme.
