Jane Berry is co-moderator across several Experts Online Fora, a role which complements her current role at ruralnet|uk. She divides her time between developing new projects and sourcing funding, and managing net:gain: a programme developing local, social enterprise approaches to support better planning and use of ICT by third sector organisations in England.

Jane has worked in the voluntary sector for over 15 years, and has designed and run many projects including women's enterprise development programmes; WREN, an early prototype of a UK online centre and a social enterprise; and DirectSupport - advising third sector organisations on sustainability, planning and funding. She has written Business Plans for many community-based ventures, as well as a wide range of training materials. Her expertise in funding sources and bid writing, and her interest in organisations, legal structures and the art of the possible, stem from this experience.

A qualified Business Counsellor specialising in the community and voluntary sectors, she has also run her own business, and grew up helping in the family firm. She is an Associate Member of the Institute of Business Consulting and has been an NVQ assessor and trainer for enterprise qualifications. She has a strong empathy for other cultures and alternative ways of working, having spent 12 years in Zambia, Egypt and Latin America. She recently visited China as part of a Social Enterprise exchange, and is a frequent guest speaker across the UK and abroad.
