We are a village hall with registered charity status. Our caretaker is employed on a self employed basis we recently changed caretakers and one of the committee does the job is he allowed to do this as he is a trustee. the hours worked are no more than 6 a week

On behalf of a village hall which is in a poor state of repair, could you suggest anyone who may be able to help them with a feasibility study to determine whether it is worth repairing or whether a new building is needed. The hall is an emergency shelter for when the A66 road is closed due to bad weather so it is an essential building but the committee want to know the best way of improving it to make it sustainable for the future. Hello We are working with a small community based pre-school who have been offered some land to build new premises on by a local school. The land is owned by the County Council, the governors have agreed (in principle) that they will offer the land (we think free of charge but not clear). They wil need to carry out some substantial fundraising to afford to build or buy a porta-cabin type building. What will they have to think about in terms of costs to do this? What will they have to consider if using CC land (ie ground rent, maintenance etc)? What permissions - if any will be required? Are ther any other considerations here? Any help and advice that you can offer we would be very grateful for? Thank you
