Why do web pages reamin in a browser after they have been deleted?

Recently I have been uploading a family history on to your server. Its publication on the Internet has caused concern with one member of the family and so I have deleted all the files and uploaded an amended title page explaining the situation. However, I am being told by the family member that she can still see the files. Could this be because they are stored on her computer as temporary Internet files or do you have to take further action at you end? Your immediate help in calming a fraught family situation would be much appreciated.
