Access to the service is FREE but requires
Improving Reach is currently a pilot project running to end of March '08 and any users who register will be asked to participate in feedback during Feb/Mar'08 to help us determine how to develop the services and the best ways to reach isolated rural groups. User feedback is essential for this and users who participate in the feedback will qualify for extended access to services to end Dec'08 during which time we hope to identify ways to further extend access to the service.
The Improving Reach initiative aims to help isolated rural voluntary and community organisations (VCOs) access advice, information and resources that will strengthen both the management of their organisations and the services they provide to their community.
The project aims to provide isolated rural groups with face-to-face training and access to online advice and support services to enable them to use ICT more effectively in the management of their organisation and the delivery of their services.
Improving Reach incorporates the Experts Online question and answer service and the xPRESS Digest daily regeneration news service. The project is also running a pilot programme to investigate the potential benefits of other web-based services that facilitate online collaboration and communication and information gathering.
Key features of Improving Reach are:
Facilitation and policing of the system by a nationally recognised/ experienced organisation
